A Dwelling of Love From a Welling Who’s Loved

Come, Follow Me: Book of Mormon. Week 30: Alma 39 – 42

The Lesson:

This week, the Come, Follow Me: Book of Mormon manual asks us to read Alma 39-42. We’ll be focusing on the scripture Alma 39:1. In the scripture, Alma recognized that his son Shiblon has been a good example. This week, we’ll be recycling a story from the Come, Follow Me: New Testament year. In the Latter Day Parables, Auggie is a good example to June. He shows June how to eat healthy carrots. He demonstrates how to be reverent during family prayer. He reminds June to brush her teeth. Mom explains to Auggie that he is a good example. Because Auggie knows it’s good to do those things, he was able to be an example to June and she followed suit.

As you read the story, use the Mom, Auggie, and June visuals. Talk to your children about a time they chose to be a good example to a friend or sibling (showed little brother how to pick up the toys, invited another friend to play at the park). Explain that when do good, we are good examples to those who watch us.
