A Dwelling of Love From a Welling Who’s Loved

Come, Follow Me: Book of Mormon. Week 18: Mosiah 11 – 17

Come, Follow Me: Book of Mormon. Week 18: Mosiah 11 – 17

The Lesson:

This week, the Come, Follow Me: Book of Mormon manual asks us to read Mosiah 7-10. In the Latter Day Parables, Auggie tells Dad that kids made fun of him when he chose to defend Jesus Christ. Proud of Auggie in his choice to stand for truth, Dad compares Auggie’s experience to Abinadi. Abinadi stood before the wicked king and testified of the truth. Dad encouraged Auggie to continue to defend his beliefs. Perhaps one day, someone will listen to him like Alma did when Abinadi spoke.

Before reading the story, read Mosiah 11-17 and gain an understanding of it for yourself. As you tell the Latter Day Parable, use the visuals provided in the Quick Clicks below. You can also use a picture of Abinadi, found in the Gospel Art Library. Explain to your children that many people don’t share our beliefs. Some may listen, some might say nothing, and others might make fun of them. It’s important that no matter what anyone says, we hold on tight to our beliefs and stand for truth when the moment arises.
