Come, Follow Me: Book of Mormon. Week 31: Alma 43 – 52

The Lesson:

This week, the Come, Follow Me: Book of Mormon manual asks us to read Alma 43-52. In the Latter Day Parables, Auggie asks Mom and Dad why Captain Moroni wrote a Title of Liberty. They explain to him that Captain Moroni wanted to help them remember what they believed in. At that time in the scriptures, Amalickiah was leading many away from the church. We, too, must remember what we believe in to help us remain righteous while surrounded by wickedness. Mom and Dad encourage Auggie to write a Title of Liberty of his own.

Before reading the story, read Alma 43-52 and gain an understanding of it for yourself. Read Alma 46:11-16. What does Captain Moroni write on the Title of Liberty? Why did he write it? As you tell the Latter Day Parable, use the visuals provided in the Quick Clicks below. After reading the parable, invite your children to create their own Titles of Liberty. Provided in the Quick Clicks below, you will find the “My Title of Liberty” PDF document you can print our and use. Help write the ideas your children come up with or let them draw pictures. Hang their Titles of Liberty up where they can be seen- in their bedroom, on the bathroom mirror, or on the fridge!
