The Lesson:
This week, the Come, Follow Me: Book of Mormon manual asks us to read 2 Nephi 6 – 10. In the Latter Day Parables, June chooses to share her special doll with May and both of them are happy! Mom relates this experience to 2 Nephi 9:49 and explains that we are happy when we choose to be righteous.
Before reading the story, study 2 Nephi 6 – 10. Read 2 Nephi 9:49 and get an understanding for yourself. Ask your children to share a time they made a good choice. Was it sharing, or cleaning their room? Maybe helping unload the dishwasher? How did they feel when making a good choice? Explain that we feel delighted when we are righteous. Delighted means happy and joyful! Ask about a time your children made a bad choice. How did they feel? Sins, or bad choices, make us feel bad. It’s better to be righteous and make good choices! Read the story and use the visuals provided below as you tell the story.
