Come, Follow Me: Book of Mormon. Week 41: 3 Nephi 27 – 4 Nephi

The Lesson:

This week, the Come, Follow Me for Individuals and Families manual asks us to read 3 Nephi 27 – 4 Nephi. In the Latter Day Parables, May comes to Dad with a question. A girl told May that she was not a Christian because she is a Mormon. She asks Dad what a Christian is. Dad explains to her that a Christian believes in Christ. May realizes that she is a Christian and is very upset that the girl didn’t think she was. Dad then tells her that some people may have difficulty understanding that we believe in Christ when we call ourselves “Mormons.” He reminds her that the prophet asked that we call ourselves members of The Church of Jesus Christ. That way, people will never question whether or not we are Christians.

This parable is a recycled story from Come, Follow Me New Testament. To access this story, click here.

Read the short story to your children and use the visuals provided as puppets as you read it. Show a picture of Jesus Christ to your children and bear your testimony of Him to them.

Sing “The Church of Jesus Christ” with them. If they struggle with the long name, tell them to say they are members of The Church of Jesus Christ. Continue to work with your children in saying that phrase, rather than saying they are “Mormon,” or LDS.
