The topic from the Come, Follow Me for Individuals and Families for this week is “We Are Responsible for Our Own Learning.” In this week’s Latter Day Parables story, Auggie learns about the Parable of the Ten Virgins and what it means to gain a testimony for himself. As a family, go over the Parable of the Ten Virgins in Matthew 25:1-13 and read Auggie’s story. How can his experience relate to Jesus’s Parable? How can we gain and develop our own testimonies?
What you need:
- Cut-outs of Auggie, Mom, and Dad. Print (cardstock is preferable), color, cut, and laminate the characters and have them act out the story as you read it. Here is the Original Latter Day Parables Family printable:
2. “Auggie Needs a Testimony” story. Print out the story- provided is a PDF link or a Word Document. To stay organized, you can put the story and cut outs in a sheet protector in a Come, Follow Me 2019 Binder.
Here are some other scriptures to read about gaining and developing a testimony: Luke 11:9-13; John 5:39; John 7:14-17; Acts 17:10-12; 1 Corinthians 2:9-11; and Alma 5:45-46. You can also look over “Testimony” in lds.org’s Gospel Topics.
