The Lesson:
This week, the Come, Follow Me for Individuals and Families manual asks us to read Hebrews 1-6. In the Latter Day Parables, a classmate, Anne, tells May she never wants to hear about God. Mom explains that Anne’s heart is hardened. She then uses a rock to show May what she means. A rock does not absorb water just like a hardened heart does not want to listen to the gospel. In those cases, the best we can do is continue to show love and kindness and maybe hearts can be softened over time.
As you read the story, use the visuals provided. You can find them in the Quick Clicks below. Explain that some people won’t want to talk about Jesus or God. But it’s still good to be nice so we share the love of Christ. Tell your children that through our kindness, we can soften hardened hearts.
