It’s a new season means new decor for my tiered tray! My tiered tray is just perfect for my small town home because I can still decorate but it won’t take up the whole house! I don’t know about you, but I LOVE decorating.
There’s something about cold weather that just makes you want to cuddle up under a blanket and read a book. So I thought it would be perfect to repurpose old chapter books and use them as a display for my tiered tray.
Our downtown library was selling a cart full of old chapter books for 10 cents each! What a steal! I bought 5 and took them home! I would recommend checking out your local library or thrift store for old books for cheap!
To make them look uniform and old, I tore the covers off the books (the front cover, back cover, and binding cover). I made sure the book at the top of the stack had an appealing first page showing (Chapter One or Prologue for instance).
Then, to add to the old look, I wrapped twine around the books! Voila! You have homey and old looking books for your tiered tray for 50 cents!
