The Lesson:
This week, the Come, Follow Me for Individuals and Families manual asks us to read 1 and 2 Timothy, Titus, and Philemon. In the Latter Day Parables, Auggie is a good example to June. He shows June how to eat healthy carrots. He demonstrates how to be reverent during family prayer. He reminds June to brush her teeth. Mom explains to Auggie that he is an example of a believer. Because Auggie knows it’s good to do those things, he was able to be an example to June and she followed suit.
As you read the story, use the Mom, Auggie, and June visuals. Talk to your children about a time they chose to be a good example to a friend or sibling (showed little brother how to pick up the toys, invited another friend to play at the park). Explain that when do good, we are good examples to those who watch us. We are examples of the believers who choose to do good things.
