The Lesson:
This week, the Come, Follow Me for Individuals and Families manual asks us to read 1 Corinthians 8-13. In the Latter Day Parables, May has a birthday! Dad explains to her that Heavenly Father has given her a special gift. We have all been given spiritual gifts to help us in this earth life.
Before reading this story, think of your own children. What are their spiritual gifts? Use the visuals as you read the story. Both the story and the visuals are free and provided in the Quick Clicks below. After reading the story, discuss the different spiritual gifts found in 1 Corinthians 12: 4, 7-11 (you can also go over the gifts mentioned in Elder Marvin J. Ashton’s talk, “There are Many Gifts“). Talk to your children about the spiritual gift Heavenly Father has given them (if you are a primary teacher, perhaps talk to their parents about their gifts). Let them know that if they continue to stay close to God, they can receive more spiritual gifts! Who doesn’t want more gifts?! Ask them what they can do to come closer to God.
