A Dwelling of Love From a Welling Who’s Loved

Week 32: August 12 – 18. Romans 7 – 16

Week 32: August 12 – 18. Romans 7 – 16

The Lesson:

This week, the Come, Follow Me for Individuals and Families manual asks us to read Romans 7 – 16. In the Latter Day Parables, Mom teaches Auggie the importance of saying thank you, like Paul did in Romans 16:1-4. She urges Auggie to write a thank you note to someone to show gratitude.

Read the story and use the visuals provided as you read. After reading the story, have your children write a thank you note. Provided in the Quick Clicks below is a Thank You Card Template you can use. My 3 year old drew a picture for her nursery leaders and I wrote a small thank you along with it! Ask your child how he/she feels when writing the card and how the person receiving the card looked (I’m hoping the answer is Happy! Haha!). When we express gratitude, everyone feels happy.

What You Need:

  1. Cut-outs of Mom and Auggie. If you haven’t yet, download the free Original Latter Day Parable Family cut-outs to get your Mom and Auggie for this week’s story. Print, cut out, and laminate the cut-outs and then store them in your Come, Follow Me Binder for future use.
  2. “A Simple Thank You” story. Provided in the Quick Clicks below is a PDF document of the story that you can download for free. Print out the story and store it in your Come, Follow Me Binder.
  3. Thank You Card. If you have thank you cards already, then great! If not, provided in the Quick Clicks below is a free Thank You Card Template you can print. There are actually 2 pages. One page has two Thank You Cards and the other page has two cards with no words. If want the card to be more personable, you can have your child draw a picture or write thank you on the front. If you would like to print just one of the pictures, make sure before you print, go to the Pages drop down menu on your print menu and click “Page Range.” From there, write the page number you would like to print in the “Range” box. I hope that helps!
