A Dwelling of Love From a Welling Who’s Loved

May 13 – 19. Matthew 19 – 20; Mark 10; Luke 18

The Lesson

This week, the Come, Follow Me for Individuals and Families manual asks us to read Matthew 19-20, Mark 10, and Luke 18. In the Latter Day Parables, Auggie asks Dad for help in understanding the word, “cleave.” His Dad explains that means to hold tight. He explains the importance of holding tight to his future wife and the difference in the roles of father and mother.

When teaching this lesson, provide a picture of the temple for your children and let them know the importance of a temple marriage. If you have one, show a picture of you and your spouse at the temple.

What You Need:

  1. Cut-outs of Dad, Auggie, Smart Phone, and Mark 10 Scripture Screen. If you haven’t yet, download the free Original Latter Day Parable Family cut-outs to get your Dad, Auggie, and Smart Phone cut-outs for this week’s story. You can download the Mark 10 Scripture Screen in the Quick Clicks below. Print, cut out, and laminate the cut-outs then store them in you Come, Follow Me 2019 Binder for future use.
  2. “Hold Tight” story. Provided in the Quick Clicks below are WORD and PDF documents of the story that you can download for free. Print out the story and store it in you Come, Follow Me 2019 Binder.
  3. Salt Lake Temple picture. If you have an LDS Gospel Art Book, the picture is in there! If you don’t, I added the picture in the Quick Clicks below that you can show to your child. You can also show a picture of you and your spouse at the temple if you have one.

  1. I happened upon this today just after I had already finished my lesson for tomorrow. I have been a Stake Primary President and in the Primary Presidency in our ward. and I have taught different ages of children over the years. I have looked at some of your other lessons and I must say you are amazingly talented and you enjoy sharing with your children and others the gospel of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in ways that are appealing and hold the attention of the children. Thank you so much for this story “Hold Tight”. It is perfect for what I’ve planned already.

    1. I really appreciate your kind comment! I started out writing and illustrating FHE lessons for my little girl and felt impressed to share these stories with others when the announcement of the new Come, Follow Me curriculum came out! I truly hope these stories can help other children understand and love the gospel the way they have helped my daughter. Thank you again for sharing your sweet thoughts.
