A Dwelling of Love From a Welling Who’s Loved

Week 45: November 18 – 24. James

Week 45: November 18 – 24. James

The Lesson:

This week, the Come, Follow Me for Individuals and Families manual asks us to read James. In the Latter Day Parables, Auggie and May get into a big argument. Mom sends them in their room to cool down while she finds a scripture to help the situation. After time alone, Mom brings the two together and tells them how tongues can be good and bad. We need to always use our tongues for good. May and Auggie say nice things to each other and feel better after.

As you tell the story, use the visuals provided for free in the Quick Clicks below. If your child can read, have him or her read from the pretend phone. Look at both photos provided below of tongues. One is a good tongue and one is a bad tongue. Can you guess which is which? Explain to your child why the tongue can do so much harm or so much good. Words are very powerful. Ask your child to try to apply this lesson and to work on saying good things instead of bad things.
