A Dwelling of Love From a Welling Who’s Loved

Week 40: October 14 – 20. Philippians; Colossians

Week 40: October 14 – 20. Philippians; Colossians

The Lesson:

This week, the Come, Follow Me for Individuals and Families manual asks us to read Philippinas and Colossians. In the Latter Day Parables, May is angry a tree root tripped her little sister. Mom explains to May and June the importance of tree roots. If a tree didn’t have roots, it would fall over during a storm! Just like trees need roots, we need to be rooted in the Savior. When hard times come, we need to remember our faith in Jesus Christ. If we are rooted in the Savior, we won’t fall down when the storms come, but become stronger.

Before reading the story, show a picture of a tree and its roots. Explain that a tree gets stronger and can withstand harsh weather conditions as the roots dig deeper. Provided in the Quick Clicks below is a picture of a tree you can use. As you read the story, provide the visuals of Mom, June, and May. After reading the story, you can show an animated video provided by the church called, “Spiritual Whirlwinds” by Neil L. Anderson. Provided in the Quick Clicks below is a link to the video.
