A Dwelling of Love From a Welling Who’s Loved

Week 37: September 16 – 22. 2 Corinthians 8 – 13

Week 37: September 16 – 22. 2 Corinthians 8 – 13

The Lesson:

This week, the Come, Follow Me for Individuals and Families manual asks us to read 2 Corinthians 8-13. In the Latter Day Parables, Auggie is very upset he didn’t make the team. He prayed every day that he’d make it, but God didn’t answer his prayer. Dad explains to Auggie that sometimes God doesn’t answer our prayers the way we want them to. Instead, He gives us opportunities to grow. By using our weaknesses, He helps us become stronger. Auggie decides to take this experience and learn from it. He chooses to work and practice hard so next time he tries out, he’ll make the team and be an even better player than before.

As you read the story, use the visuals provided in the Quick Clicks below. Discuss with your children that Heavenly Father loves us and wants us to learn and grow. Because of that, He can’t give us everything we want. Instead, He will take our weakness and make us stronger.
